OUR OPINION ABOUT THE BOARD
The Starter Pelican is our star model for beginners.
It is a longboard with a 50/50 rail from nose to tail, which allows us to reach the highest buoyancy line and, at the same time, allows us to make many mistakes both in paddling and standing up.
It is a super maneuverable longboard, as its round tail is ideal for steering, driving the board in the face of the wave and enjoying carving.
Very fun and practical to go from a shortboard or a school board to a longboard.
In its central part it has a good surface and allows cross-stepping, even though it is not specificly made for it.
The design of the colored stripes seeks to facilitate the student’s learning and progress, clearly marking the central zone for standing, the sweet zone for cross stepping and the nose for noseriding.
RECOMMENDED FIN for this board:
Choosing the right fin is essential to get the most out of your session, depending on the conditions of the day.
To give your longboard more stability and make it easier to walk to the nose, we recommend the Classic Pelican 9’75.
On the other hand, if you are looking to sacrifice some stability for more radical turns, we recommend the Versatile Pelican 9’75.
